Kinesiotaping and McConnell Taping Therapy
At your first appointment, your Physical Therapist will perform a thorough evaluation and develop a personalized rehabilitation treatment program with you that may include Kinesiotaping/McConnell taping Therapy.
WHAT Is Kinesiotaping and McConnell Taping Therapy?
Kinesio Tape (KT), or kinesiology tape, is a newly popularized modality that is used by therapists trained in the Kinesio Taping Method by Certified Kinesio Taping Instructors (CKTI).
Kinesio Tape is a latex-free hypoallergenic cotton fiber tape with an acrylic heat-activated backing that stretches only along its longitudinal axis.
The McConnell Taping Method is a technique that tapes body parts to affect a specific biomechanical movement.
Benefits of Kinesiotaping and McConnell Taping:
It is more economical over time than other modalities, it is easy to learn and apply, there are less types of tape, and it may be used over a longer period of time. The Kinesio Taping Method differs from athletic strapping tape and the traditional McConnell Taping Method.
The McConnell Taping Method is a technique that tapes body parts to affect a specific biomechanical movement.
McConnell Tape uses a very rigid, highly adhesive tape that is applied for no more than 18 hours and often for shorter periods of time due to patient discomfort.

- A thorough examination that includes assessing the quality and quantity of your movements, and any factors that might put you at risk for delayed recovery or might indicate a serious health problem.
- Assessment of how you use your body at work, at home, during sports, and at leisure.
- Determination of the diagnosis and impairments that are causing your pain and establishment of a treatment plan of care.

What Our Clients Say
This was my second time going to SEPT in Fairview, once for my “tennis elbow” and this last time for rotator cuff surgery. All staff there are amazing, they pushed me hard enough to get to where I’m able to use my shoulder again and my surgeon was very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend this facility to everyone and will go there again if I need to. I came in to regain wrist mobility, after I broke my wrist and got off my cast. After six weeks of PT at that center, I feel completely re-habilitated and was able to comfortably get into my kayak and go for a two hour paddle on a creek yesterday and even fight an unusually low tide mud challenge. The center is clean, spacious, and offers full view of the mountains which patients can enjoy while working out. Rachel, the cheerful receptionist, quickly got me in and provided me with a rolling schedule which she would print out for me, upon changes. I worked with Sarah and Walter, the senior PT, and quickly made progress through their guidance and gentle push approach. They answered all my questions and i had fun working with them. I definitely recommend this place to anyone. This is a professional, competent, compassionate and fun team to work with.
